It has been a while since Sony made its PlayStation Suite available on certain Sony smartphones. The PlayStation Suite lets users access mobile games certified by Sony PlayStation.
Sony has now announced that the application has been renamed to PlayStation Mobile and also that it will soon be available on HTC smartphones. This expansion is possible because Sony has started licensing out the service; however, only HTC has been declared a confirmed partner so far.
This news will come as a pleasant surprise to users of HTC smartphones, including the HTC One X, since they will now be able to play PlayStation certified games on their own HTC smartphones.
PlayStation certified games are approved by Sony and are significantly optimized for the selected smartphones, ensuring the best mobile gaming experience. The games that will most probably become available for HTC smartphones will include popular games like Brothers in Arms 2, Crash Bandicoot, The Sims 3, among several others.
Sony has announced that the PlayStation Mobile service will be launched not only on HTC’s Android smartphones, but also on Windows smartphones. The service has already been in beta testing for two months, so game developers can immediately begin developing new games.
