According to two sources, Amazon is going to come out with its next-gen Kindle Fire 2 tablet , which will run on Google’s Android operating system, to challenge the newly launched Google Nexus 7. Now there is news that Amazon may well be preparing to launch its own smartphone besides the Kindle Fire 2. This report came out in Bloomberg. As these plans of Amazon are still under wraps, sources did not want to reveal their identity.
According to reports, Chinese mobile manufacturer Foxconn International Holdings Ltd. is working along with Amazon to create this handset. Amazon will be applying for patents which will cover wireless technology and would help the company to have a safeguard against any type of allegation of infringement.
The report also added that Amazon will get cheap hardware which will boost up its plans of making money from the digital books, songs and movies. With this advanced wireless handsets, the company is looking to boost its revenue even further.
By the way this is not the first time that Amazon has tried to enter into the market of Apple as last year also Amazon had its Kindle Fire launched. This tablet was the only tablet which came as a great threat to the Apple iPad’s market.
With Kindle Fire 2 being talked about so much, people are saying that it will have improved hardware components though there are no details about the processor or other hardware specifications out yet. We are hoping that the this ‘mystery’ smartphone from Amazon as well as the upcoming Kindle Fire 2 will give the iPad 3 and the upcoming iPhone 5 a run for its money just like the Kindle Fire did with the iPad 2. Let’s hope Amazon pulls it off one more time for its own sake.
