Only recently, the Sony Xperia GX had been spotted at the FCC, sparking rumors that the phone was heading for a US launch in the near future. And now, some images of the Xperia GX, also called the LT29i or Hayabusa, have been leaked on the Web, which may just prove these rumors to be true.
However, the Xperia GX and the LT29i are not one and the same device- the Sony Xperia GX was launched only in Sony’s home market Japan, while the LT29i Hayabusa is the international version of the phone. Moreover, the Hayabusa features a different chrome surrounding the phone and the FeliCa logo under the LED flash found in the Xperia GX is missing on the LT29i Hayabusa. However, both phones share a similar body design.
Sony has not yet revealed the specs of the LT29i Hayabusa. It is expected that the phone will feature the following specs:
- Display: 4.55-inch HD display with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels
- RAM: 1 GB
- CPU: 1.5GHz dual-core processor
- GPU: Adreno 320
- Camera: 13MP rear camera
We do not have much of an idea yet about when the LT29i will become available. The leaked images merely suggest that an international version of the Xperia GX is likely to be launched in the near future and since the US is one of Sony’s biggest markets, it is expected to be launched there first.
